Maison Michel Picard - Château de Chassagne Montrachet

12.12.2006 Maison MICHEL PICARD: One of the best buyers of the 146th Hospices de Beaune wine auction 2006

Every year, the Hospices de Beaune wine auction takes place on the third Sunday of November in the prestigious viticultural city, and this time it was on November 19th 2006. Maison Michel Picard, represented by the whole family, was among the bidders to buy several famous wines. For example, we'll name the Clos de la Roche – cuvée Cyrot-Chaudron (2 barrels), the Mazis-Chambertin – cuvée Madeleine Collignon (2 barrels), the Bâtard-Montrachet – cuvée Dames des Flandres et the Corton-Charlemagne – cuvée François de Salins (1 barrel); but also appellations such as Beaune, Volnay, Meursault-Genévrières, Meursault-Charmes or Pouilly-Fuissé. These purchases, done for the main house as well as for custumers from all over the world, rank Michel Picard as the second best buyer of this charity auction. This week-end could not have started on a better way for these worldwide clients as well as for other guests, as they were invited for a candle light diner on Saturday evening in the Reception cellar of Château de Chassagne-Montrachet. Guests from Russia, Taiwan, Japan, Congo, Canada, Belgium, Germany and the United States (and other countries too) shared a delicate meal, in harmony with Michel Picard's wines and in a musical atmosphere under the 14th century vaults of the Château. Sumptuous setting for a week-end in honor of Burgundy wines…
